Preschool Goodbyes

Another chapter in Baylie's life has ended. She has finished up her preschool years. We were so fortunate to get her in the school's preschool program, it's such a great program, but more especially I absolutely love the teachers. As a mom I just cannot put into words the value of a good teacher. A huge THANK YOU to Miss Deb and Miss Kim!

They had one last hooray with a craft and pizza at the park. It was a lot of fun to honor Baylie for the day, she ended earlier then Jaya and so it really was her day.

It has been such a year of growth from little Baylie and I just love that I can watch her come into her own personality and see her own strengths.

Spectator Soccer is the way to go.

Spring soccer has officially come to an end. It was such a great season because I just got to watch, no coaching (okay so I did help out with the last game, but that's no big deal).
Jaya had her 2nd season of soccer and continues to improve. I actually think she did better because she had her tonsils out, but there is no scientific findings to support this, I just know she could actually run up and down the field and never once got tired, very unlike last year. We decided to try out the local program, and it was AWESOME, no drives into town, casual coaching, and a fun learning environment for the players.

So I want you to notice Jaya's sheer size compared to the rest of the players in this next picture. There is no distortion here, she was probably at least a head taller then everyone on her team except for one player. When I first met the team I found out that they combined Kindergarten and 1st grade players to have enough, no big deal. Well then at practice come to find out there were actually about 3 preschoolers too. I was pretty bummed at first not because I want her to be on the best team, mainly because I could have had Baylie on her team too. I was a little worried about it, but it worked out fine. It boosted her confidence being one of the oldest, and she had a great season.

My sister and Baylie cheering on the players.

3 is my favorite

I remember when I taught preschool for a semester while I was engaged, the 3 year olds were my favorite. Not having a ton of experience with children I just decided that this was my favorite age, they could talk and said the funniest things, they could play and just overall loved everything about their teachers.

When each of my own children have reached the age of 3 it always makes me think about that preschool teaching time, and I remember why I love it. It's just great to be 3.

Eden just turned 3 (okay it was in February) but whose really paying attention.

Here's what she is like at 3...

She LOVES...dresses. Purses, necklaces, bracelets and LIP GLOSS. Her black high heels. Cooking. Baths. She loves to be with her mom, in fact she follows me around all day, this is very different from the others. Playdough. Make-up, but only mine. And last but not least she absolutely, 100% loves to make messes. She is great at it, I will leave a room, only to have her leave a trail of some sort of mess along the way. She definitely keeps me on my toes.

She DISLIKES...watching movies alone, she needs to have a buddy. Listening, this is the girl that will get put in time out for something and then when the timer dings loses no time in doing whatever it was that got her in time out originally. Being lost, which to her 3 year old mind means being 10 feet from Darrin or I in public. Breathing while crying, if she starts crying she will stop breathing, which often results in her lying down on the floor (from loss of oxygen). Don't worry she always starts again, usually when she gets completely horizontal. Dogs. Cats. She does eventually warm up to the animals, but the first time I saw her get cornered by a cat I couldn't stop laughing.

I am excited to have my little girl turn 3, we are going to have a great year together.

So you think YOU can dance??

No this is not some strange cultural dance that I have decided to learn, although I wouldn't put that past me. This is our new Wii game "Just Dance". It is so much fun. I have always been to competitive about trying to beat the game that I never thought much about how it looked while playing till, I started posting these pictures.

No wonder Darrin has refused to invite or let any of our friends play this with us. So far it has just be reserved for family.

My girls love it too, they are actually better then I am, even with Eden just swaying her hips and occasionally dropping her remote.

And Yes, that is Darrin wearing a sweatband, this game is no joke, it's a serious workout!

Wheezer

After a few days of a cold, we had a scare one night while nursing. Kale started sputtering and was acting as if he couldn't breath well. I ended up with him in our bed most of the night, which is so not me, but I was too scared to have him far from me. The next day we visited the doctor.
It turned out he had a double ear infection, and as far as the breathing was concerned she suggested he put him on a nebulizer, until the mucus broke up. I was so glad that it was nothing too serious.
I do have to admit though that the little mask looks so cute.

Love, love, love her.

My brother could not have picked a better mate. This is my new sister-in-law Jessica (Jones) Beynon. They came down to visit this last weekend. My girls love her as much as I do. So much that Eden with heavy eyes, crawled up on her lap and feel asleep, Jessica followed shortly.

A fun mom

Every mom has different things she wants to be, and usually lots of different things she wants to be. On my list of what I want to be as a mom is FUN. Some days I do better then others. I don't even dare want to ask my kids if they think I am fun, because lately all I hear Eden say to me is "Mom, you are a crazy, mom." I'm not offended, I interpret that as she is 3 and doesn't really know what she is talking about. Now when she is 10 and still saying I'm crazy we may have a problem.
During Spring Break, we decided to have some fun. 2 other moms and I loaded up our 4-wheelers with kids and hit the trails. We went cave explorer and just 4-wheeled around.
This picture cracks me up, there you have little Eden in her winter coat (I thought it would be colder), rain boots and bike helmet - safety first.
This little girl was my personal cave guide, she took me through the caves later, because I watched all the little kids, while the big kids and other moms went in.
