Day 4 - Glider rocker also known as laundry basket

Okay so after 4 days of posting pictures of my messes, I am beginning to seriously wonder how I walked around all of this for so long. I do have a valid excuse (having baby) and I will continue to use that to make myself feel better, maybe till he's even a year old, or however long it takes.
Today's mess was a combination of laundry and again sorting out seasons and sizes of boy clothes. Laundry is tricky because it must be constantly done and I am usually finding my green chair with little loads of clothes on it. That being said I am trying to turn over a new leaf and I hope this chair stays clean and clear so it will serve it's original purpose of a rocker.

Blessed Day

August 16th Kale was blessed and it was a great day. We were surrounded with family that had traveled from near and far, it helped that Darrin's parents had returned home from their mission and his siblings had come, but I like to think it was all for little Kale. We were fortunate to be able to do it at the Case's home, so it was very relaxed and his actual blessing was beautiful. I just love this little boy.

Day 3 - Office drawer

Running a photography business on the side while being a wife and mother has taken it's toll in the filing cabinet. I have one drawer dedicated to this business and all in all I think it's pretty impressive that it's consolidated to a drawer, but the drawer was a mess. It was amazing the pile that got thrown away (I should have gotten a picture of that!) So here is my newly organized office drawer...

Day 2 - The baby clutter

Oh what to do with the diapers, wipes, and clothes? Today I conquered the pile that at my house had sat right beside the dresser. They weren't in the dresser because there wasn't room in there. This project proved to be a bigger task then I originally thought, mainly because I had to go through the dresser to get clothes put in the right boxes for sizes and seasons, alas I finished. Here is the completed look. I put the crib against the wall so that future recurrence of this will not be tempting.

I know it's kind of strange to put the diapers in the crib, but Kale's still small and this way they are in arm's reach to the changing table/dresser.

This last shot is just showing the fun I had painting and decorating the nursery (or at least half the room that is the nursery).

30 Days to Order

I have been walking around my house for weeks now, I don't dare say how many, looking at things that need a place and piles to organize. I am officially sick of it! Therefore I have started my 30 Days to Order challenge.
The Rules:
Everyday I will pick and new project or pile that needs to be organized, or de-cluttered.
That's it. Very simple and in 30 days I am sure I will feel like a very complete person.

Day 1 - The Refrigerator
(I only did the outside) I had magnets, birth announcements (so cute Steph), and photos plastering my fridge, although I love and adore all of it, it was very messy. Away it went, the stuff I wanted to keep went into my binder, the magnets were put on the side no one can see, and the top was cleaned up, all but the piggy banks.
Here's the finished product:

How long is ALL day?

Jaya goes to first grade now, and it's all day. I was having a particularly hard time thinking about my daughter going to school all day. Some of you mom's may think I am nuts but, I really miss her. So for those that have asked me, how does it feel to have Jaya gone all day, it feels LONG.
Eden is often asking "Where is Jaya?" I wonder how long it will take till she won't ask that anymore? Baylie keeps asking me "When is Jaya coming home?" So needless to say I am not the only one that misses her.

As for Jaya she loves it, she has a great teacher, and she gets fun treats in her lunch!

Vindicated

From the desk of Darrin:
Well I am sure that everyone gets board with these posts of my runs but I needed to write a little something about this one. A year ago Darcy signed me up for the Provo Half Marathon, which prior to that date the farthest I had run was about 6 miles. Needless to say it was a terrible run for me. It took me over 2 hours and 20 minutes to run it. The whole run I kept getting passed by this old lady with a knee brace, which in the end she beat me. The worst part of the race was that I looked like Andy Bernard who said:

“I'm petrified of nipple chafing. Once it starts it is a vicious circle. If you have sensitive nipples, they chafe, so they become more sensitive, so they chafe more. So... I take precautions.”

Needless to say I had a similar condition. It was a terrible run! I came back this year to regain some of my dignity. I ran this year’s race in 1 hour and 53 minutes. It was a good run. I passed several old ladies, and one little boy. I feel so much better and my nipples did not chafe during the race.
